Avon Body Illusion: Comfiest Undies I've Ever Tried
Friday, March 29, 2019
Since I was a preteen, I felt very insecure about my body. I’m always shy when buying underwear but as I grew older, I realized that there’s nothing to be shy about. Women are created by God in various shapes and sizes. Everyone was made unique and beautiful.
With Avon’s Fashion Body Illusion, I felt even more confident with my body. They absolutely fit me like a glove! Avon’s Body Illusion are the most breathable undies I have ever tried. Not only are they comfy, but they also hug your body without giving off the normal bra and panty lines. It really #FeelsLikeFreedom!
The Charlene underwire is a seamless, laser-cut bra and panty pair (sold separately). Charlene underwire bra is available for 899, and the Charlene panty is available for 299.
As a proud flat-chested sister, I’m definitely not the underwire type of girl. I usually like non-wires and sports bras better because more comfortable for everyday use. However, when I tried Charlene underwire, I barely felt the underwire since it was so soft. The cups are soft, as well. I also love the nudish color, which is what I usually gravitate towards.
When I first tried the panty on, I instantly noticed the quality of the fabric. It’s sooooo soft! It’s made out of nylon spandex, but don’t fret, it’s definitely breathable unlike other spandex clothing that makes you sweat like there’s no tomorrow. It feels very light like second skin. No kidding, I will buy two to three more of these for myself - yep, they’re that impressive!

Blithe: Anti-Polluaging Skincare (ft. StyleKorean)
Saturday, January 5, 2019 Philippines
For city ladies in their 20's like me, skincare is a major priority. Everyone is not getting younger by the day, plus being exposed to pollutants in our everyday commute isn't easy to battle.
So when I came across Blithe, thanks to StyleKorean, I got intrigued by their skincare line. Blithe coined the term "anti-polluaging" which means protecting the skin against pollution and early skin aging.
I have tested 4 products from Blithe below. Continue reading to know more about them!
Taiwan Travel Diary + Lookbook: Day 3
Saturday, December 29, 2018 Taichung City, Taiwan
Our third day in Taiwan was probably the most stressful one. This is the day we went to Taichung.
Check out what happened in Day 2 here.
THIRD DAY: APRIL 4, 2018
8:30 AM Breakfast (@ Inn)
9:30 AM Travel from Taipei to Taichung
2:30 PM Rainbow Village, Taichung
3:30 PM Zhongshe Flower Market
5:30 PM Gaomei Wetlands
9:00 PM Raohe Night Market
11:00 PM Back to Inn
Taichung is pretty far from Taipei City, where we were staying. There are a lot of transportation options (train, bus, car, etc.) to Taichung, but we chose the most comfortable one which is to rent a car. The bullet train is actually faster but it's hard to roam around Taichung if you're considering this. We rented a car for 12 hours from a fellow Filipino. (I decided not to mention his name or contact number here because we weren't really satisfied with the service, sad to say).
Distance from Taipei City to Taichung City |
We ate a big breakfast at the inn before taking off to Taichung at 9:30 AM. Unfortunately, we weren't aware that the day we planned to go there was a national holiday. It was hella traffic and it took us 5 hours to get there via the freeway which took up half of our day!
Our first stop was Rainbow Village. It's not really a village, as the name implies. It's more like a small compound in a park wherein the walls are painted in beautiful rainbow colors. Rainbow village was single-handedly painted by Mr. Huang Yongfu, aka Rainbow Grandpa, to save his home from demolition.
There is no entrance fee in Rainbow Village but you can still help Rainbow Grandpa by buying souvenirs and/or by giving a simple donation. :)
Afterwards, we rushed towards Zhongshe Flower Market. This was the place that I was most excited to go to in Taichung. I have seen a lot of Instagram pictures of it that have wowed me and dang, it did not disappoint in person. The flowers are all so colorful and bright, and the field is huge!!!
The entrance fee in Zhongshe Flower Market is 120 NTD. I highly recommend you visit this place because it is totally worth it. There are lines in some attractions but they're really not that long. Also, don't try to squeeze in too much on your itinerary after this because you might need 1-2 hours to roam around (and take IG-worthy shots).
This is the famous grand piano! (Unedited version hehe) |
This is the other grand piano amongst the lavender field! It was harder to take a picture here due to the photobombers!!! |
We finished taking pictures around 5 PM. Sadly, because of our limited time, we weren't able to go to neither Xinshe Castle nor Lavender Cottage. :( Our driver suggested we go to Gaomei Wetlands to witness the sunset, which was not far from Zhongshe Flower Market.
We arrived around 5:30 PM there and got disappointed because we just missed the sunset. With heavy hearts, we just took some pictures with the windmills as the background and stuffed ourselves with Taiwanese street food (which is always a good idea).
Gaomei Wetlands |
At 11 PM, we decided to call it a day and go back to our inn.

Althea's Latest: Milk Peel Cream Mask
Friday, November 30, 2018
I have tried all sorts of masks ever since I became obsessed with K-skincare, but never have I ever tried a mask with AHA + BHA before. If you are not familiar with these terms, here's the gist:
AHA, alpha hydroxy acids (ex. glycolic, lactic acid), is a form of chemical exfoliant. It focuses on the surface of your skin for brightening and reducing hyperpigmentation.
BHA, beta hyrdoxy acid aka salicylic acid, is also a chemical exfoliant. It targets the problems deeper than the surface, which are commonly blackheads, acne, and clogged pores.
This November, Althea came out with a Milk Peel Cream Mask with AHA and BHA together. That's right, a mask that chemically exfoliates your skin!
How to use
Dampen the skin and apply an even layer onto the skin, massaging till a rich lather forms. Leave on for 30-60 seconds before rinsing away with warm water.
I wish you can see it more clearly! :( It has a thick foam. (But it isn't heavy!) |
I had a chance to try it out and here are my thoughts:
Claims
This gentle peeling mask can be used for dry and combination skin. A self-bubbling clay texture creates a dense lather to remove dead skin cells on the surface (due to the AHA), target and unclog enlarged pores (BHA), and moisturize the skin (milk).
Verdict
The packaging is quite cute, it releases the mask through a pump. At first, the product had a light gray clay-like texture. Then, it turned into a bubble mask after 5-10 seconds. It doesn't feel tingly or itchy, so it's good for sensitive skin. The foam was soft and light, no harsh particles or beads were there (compared to other exfoliators).
After masking for 40 seconds, my face definitely feels refreshed. I immediately felt that it removed sebum because there was tightness. It was not drying though. Nevertheless, for a dry-skinned girl like me, I usually find it best to use a moisturizing toner + moisturizer cream after this. Also, since it's an exfoliator, I won't use this everyday to avoid over-exfoliating. Once or twice a week is what I prefer.
For the AHA and BHA claims, there was no immediate result right after washing. I guess I'll just have to update you when I see the difference! ;)
Milk Peel Cream Mask retails for PhP 490 in Althea.

Althea's Latest: Petal Velvet Sunaway
Sunday, November 25, 2018 Philippines
Did you know that your foundation's SPF is not enough to protect your skin all day? Especially if you spend a lot of your time under the sun. Applying sunscreen is a must!
Althea Korea has released its newest wonder product - Petal Velvet Sunaway. It has SPF 50+ PA++++ (five plus signs in total!), provides moisture and also helps control sebum. It comes in a pink and white squeezy plastic tube.
A lightweight, translucent sunscreen that protects the skin from UV rays and leaves a soft velvet finish. Also keeps the skin moisturized and helps control sebum.
Verdict
Compared to other sunscreens I've tried, this is the most undetectable. The product is white but after it sets on the skin, it blends incredibly well to my skin tone. It does not feel sticky on the face. It leaves a velvet finish and feels very lightweight.
I find it best to apply this after putting on my facial moisturizer and before putting on my hydrating primer. As it is nearly invisible, it has no coverage whatsoever. It's just like adding a secret layer of protection to your skin. :) I highly recommend this as an everyday sunscreen and also perfect when going to the beach.
The consistency is runny and a bit watery. |
After spreading it a bit, we can still see that the product is white in color. |
After spreading it out evenly on the skin, it looks like this. |
After a few seconds, it will set. Ta-da! You can barely see it! |
Some people hate wearing sunscreen because it feels heavy on the skin, and the inevitable whitecast. However, with Petal Velvet Sunaway, that won't be a problem! Petal Velvet Sunaway retails for PhP 480 for 55 ml in Althea's website.

Real Fresh Skin Detoxer #AltheaxGetItBeauty
Tuesday, August 14, 2018 Philippines
Althea Korea keeps on surprising me. Not only that they continue to keep up with other online beauty stores with their afforable prices, but they are also slowly (but surely) building their own skincare line! For their 3rd birthday, they collaborated with Korea's top TV program, Get It Beauty, in creating a 10-second wash-off mask called Real Fresh Skin Detoxer.
