Le Petit Soufflé had us all intrigued by featuring a fusion of Japanese and French cuisines. Along with its fascinating indoor tree interiors, their dessert specialties have attracted a lot of foodie explorers to go to Poblacion, Makati and experience what they have to offer. As one of the foodie "explorers", I brought my boyfriend there on his birthday.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Operating Hours: 11am-9pm (Mon-Thu), 10am-10pm (Fri-Sat), 10am-9pm (Sun)
- Address: 3rd floor, Century City Mall, Kalayaan Ave, Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City, Philippines
- Price for two: PHP 1000 and up
We arrived in Makati
at around 6pm, which is hella traffic btw. The restaurant just had a few
customers because it wasn't dinner time yet, plus it's a weekday. The place was
spacious and the tables were carefully divided which gave its customers
somewhat a private dining experience. The waitress let us pick where to sit and
we chose to sit in the middle wherein you can view the restaurant's beautiful
interiors. Slim trees with rolling pins dangling against them lit up the place
and gave it a warm and outdoorsy vibe. Also brightening the area are yellow and
white window panes up against the walls. And of course, the French experience
wouldn't be complete without French Café Music.
I was hesitant to order a rice meal, however,
I was really hungry that time so I did. Lol. For our mains, we ordered the Pork
Bourguignon (PHP 425) and the Squid-ink Rice (PHP 395). The Pork Bourguignon is
described as red wine-stewed pork leg served with fragrant garlic Japanese rice
and Furikake sunny side up egg. The Squid-ink Rice is described as fresh
seafood, shimeji mushroom and soft scrambled egg on delicious squid-ink rice. I liked the seafood plate better than the pork dish. The squid-inked rice is a complete standout and unique in its own way, compared to the rice of the pork leg. The mushrooms and eggs definitely add flavor and variety to the dishes. I must say, these are huge servings! My boyfriend and I did not finish them in one seating, we were so full!

For dessert, we had
the Matcha Valrhona Ivoire 35% White Chocolate Soufflé (PHP 350). This is
unsurprisingly perfect! Matcha and White chocolate just complement each other
so well, plus, they're both my favorites. Dessert was that night's highlight. The soufflé is definitely a must try.

DeleteThe place looks so nice. Their food also looks delish but quite expensive. Well, guess it's worth it though. And that matcha dessert looks heavenly. <3
